Poon Hill is a privileged observatory of the Himalayas, with a panoramic view that spans from Dhaulagiri to Manaslu, a bit far away, including all the Annapurnas and the beautiful Machhapuchhre. It is the highlight of this small trek, a pleasant 5-day immersion into trekking experience in Nepal.

Beginning in the picturesque surroundings of the Australian Camp, entering the little crowded route of Tolka and Landruk, we arrive at the town of Ghandruk, with cobbled streets, white houses and stone roofs, dominated by the Annapurna South. A trek suitable for everyone who likes walking through nature. Also, it can be easily trimmed or extended. The days are not excessively long, there is no rush and it is an enjoyable trek for children. As it is a trek where you do not have to wear too many clothes, it is also possible to do it without a porter.

If you fancy a hot spring bath, we recommend adding a day to Jhinu Danda. Enjoy its stone pools right next to the roaring Modi Khola that comes down directly from the Annapurna glacier.

In addition, you have enough time to visit Kathmandu and relax quietly in Pokhara. In Kathmandu you cannot miss Bouddhanath, perhaps the most famous Buddhist stupa in the world and one of the largest, in the middle of its square full of life. Hang around Thamel, the busy neighborhood full of travelers, but also locals. Enjoy its cafes, shops, restaurants of all kinds and counting the number of temples of all sizes that you come across.

In Pokhara, the antithesis of Kathmandu, enjoy the tranquility of its lake and commercial area, or take a bicycle to discover its surroundings.

In short, you have in your hands an excellent opportunity to experience a good piece of Nepal and savor it, even if you do not have much time. It will always be interesting to add more days if you want to visit Bandipur, Bhaktapur, Bajthala, explore into Chitwan’s jungle, or whatever you feel like.
