Sunkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers are more demanding than Trishuli, so if you really focus in rafting and you need more adrenaline, those are your white-water rivers. With long and powerful water rapids of level 3+/4-, big rocks and among amazing landscape, it can be one or more days activity from Kathmandu.
One day (can be more)
Minimum group of 4 people
Start and finish at your accommodation in Kathmandu.
Activity subject to season and water level in the rivers.
If you really focus in rafting, the Bhotekoshi or Sunkoshi rivers are more interesting than the Trishuli. Naturally, as with most rafting rivers, the time of year and the amount of rainfall make a big difference to the flow, so check with us so that we can check the condition of these rivers and see if they are in good rafting condition.
We will drive by Araniko road for about two to three hours to the campsite where we will be ready for rafting. The Sunkoshi River, which runs alongside the road, can be rafted almost all year round, while the slightly more technical and demanding Bhotekoshi River tends to be too high during the monsoon between about June and September for safe rafting.
After the descent, we will have lunch at the camp to recover our energy and, once we are rested, we will head back to Kathmandu.
It is advisable to bring a swimming costume and shoes that can get wet, as well as a change of dry clothes and a towel if you wish.
You can extend the experience to two days of rafting, but please note that the camp accommodation is a little basic.
