Mera Peak stands out for being a relatively isolated summit, which is why it has impressive 360º views, but even more, because the approach trekking runs through a solitary and beautiful valley, away from the busy paths of the Khumbu, which gives it an extra value.

Mera Peak, Mera Central itself, is known for being the highest summit of the so-called “Trekking Peaks”, peaks that have easy logistics and not excessively expensive climbing permit. But we always think that climbing one of these summits is not just climbing to the top. There is a trekking ahead where you can enjoy the path. This is especially true in the case of the Mera Peak. The approach trek passes through the secluded and lonely Inkhu Valley, where just a few years ago there were only shepherds’ huts in the upper part of the route. Nowadays, the trek is done entirely in lodges and you only sleep in a tent in the High Camp, just before the last attack to the summit. Thus, in the unlikely event that the summit cannot be reached, an exceptional trek will have been carried out, away from the main and, at times, saturated routes.
We present here what we consider to be the minimum option for the trek and the ascent to the summit, although we always advise you, if you can, to have days of margin in order to have more options in case of bad weather on the day of the ascension or that the flights of Lukla are cancelled due to lack of visibility.

Flights to Lukla now operate mostly from Ramechhap airport. To get Ramechhap you must get a shuttle that leaves at 01:00 in the morning from Thamel and lasts about 5h30. So, this day, you must wait until we will pick you up about 00:30 in the hotel lobby to walk to shuttle departure point. If the flight leaves from Kathmandu you can rest comfortably at the hotel, although it is true that flights to Lukla from Kathmandu are more susceptible to cancellations due to weather reasons.
You can bring your own personal climbing equipment or choose to rent it.
If you bring your own equipment, keep in mind that the maximum weight of luggage allowed on the Lukla flight is 15Kg (in total) and the maximum weight allowed for our porter is 25Kg.
If you want to rent it, you must provide us with your shoe size. The material is located in Khare Camp and must be paid there directly in Nepalese rupees. You can rent the complete pack or just what you need.
- “Cramponable” boots
- Crampons
- Harness
- carabiners
- ice axe
- Helmet
Important in the case of groups of two climbers with a single Sherpa: If on the day of the ascent to the summit one of the climbers cannot continue, both components must descend. As you understand, no one is left alone in the mountain. In case you have doubts about it, you can always choose to each get a Sherpa (extra cost).
In groups with more members, in the same case, normally one Sherpa would descend with the hiker to the High Camp and the rest would continue the ascent.
