Along with Mera and Island Peak, Lobuche is one of the peaks over 6000 meters in altitude accessible to most hikers with some experience in snow and ice progression. Lobuche mountain is relatively isolated massif. There are two main summits, Lobuche East (6119m) and Lobuche West (6145m), joined by a ridge. Trekkers use to climb the East summit because the Western peak is much more technical and complicated to climb. As there are none of the 8000-meter peaks nearby, the views from Lobuche are spectacular at 360º wide.
The route to ascend it begins in Lobuche, located on the main route of the Everest Base Camp Trek, and its climb involves two days from there, to which it is advisable to add an spare day in case of bad weather or any other setback, as it’s already included in this program.
The best options to reach Lobuche with sufficient acclimatization for a safe ascent would be the Cho-La Trek or the Kongma-La Trek, since in both cases you cross a pass above 5000 meters. Adding to this route the climb to Kala Pathar and visiting to Everest Base Camp will give you even better acclimatization, while at the same time completing an extraordinary route through the Khumbu Valley that you will never forget.

Flights to Lukla now operate mostly from Ramechhap airport. To get Ramechhap you must get a shuttle that leaves at 01:00 in the morning from Thamel and lasts about 5h30. So, this day, you must wait until we will pick you up about 00:30 in the hotel lobby to walk to shuttle departure point. If the flight leaves from Kathmandu you can rest comfortably at the hotel, although it is true that flights to Lukla from Kathmandu are more susceptible to cancellations due to weather reasons.
Important in the case of groups of two climbers with a single Sherpa: If on the day of the ascent to the summit one of the climbers cannot continue, both components must descend. As you understand, no one is left alone in the mountain. In case you have doubts about it, you can always choose to each get a Sherpa (extra cost).
In groups with more members, in the same case, normally one Sherpa would descend with the hiker to the High Camp and the rest would continue the ascent.
PERSONAL CLIMBING EQUIPMENT
You can bring your own personal climbing equipment or choose to rent it.
If you bring your own equipment, keep in mind that the maximum weight of luggage allowed on the Lukla flight is 15Kg (in total) and the maximum weight allowed for our porter is 25Kg.
